Stará Ľubovňa

Folk architecture

The beauty of folk architecture of the regions Spiš and Šariš is presented by the Ľubovňa open-air museum situated under the Ľubovňa castle. Its objects come from the first third of the 20th century. There are not only dwelling houses, but also technical buildings – smithery, mill, wood workshop.

The most precious object of the exposition, the Wooden Greek Catholic church in Matysová from the year 1833, dedicated to the holy Michael Archangel, belongs to significant monuments of folk religious architecture in eastern Slovakia and at the same time to Slovak national cultural monuments.
